With now just a month left until the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup officially kicks off the 2022/23 season in Ruka, most of the national teams are undergoing their training camps at different locations around the world to work on their jumps as well as speed and technique on the bumps.

Similarly to what we saw last year, also 2022/23 season is set for an early start in November with FIS Open competition scheduled to go down first in Austria’s Hintertux on November 5-6, before the world’s elite will head up north to Sweden for the final test in Idre Fjall on November 19-20.

This season the Austrian Ski Federation has moved its early-season training location from Soelden to Hintertux and in the last couple of weeks we’ve seen multiple national teams heading to Austria’s third highest ski area to get ready for what shapes up to be a highly entertaining World Cup campaign.

Last year at Soelden we saw over 30 athletes from five different nations competing in the Norther Hemisphere’s season opening competition and based on the entry list also this year we can expect tons of action happening this upcoming Saturday and Sunday.

Once we wrap things up in Hintertux, we’ll move over to Idre Fjall, where for the third straight year the FIS Open competition will provide a perfect opportunity for some of the world’s top athletes to test their form just days before the World Cup season starts far north in Ruka.

Last season Idre hosted a historic event with a record-breaking numbers of participants with more than 170 athletes competing in back-to-back events. With the World Cup course in Idre opened for almost two weeks now, we’re expecting that also this year’s edition of Idre’s FIS Open event will be one for the books.

Perrine Laffont, Tess Johnson, Jaelin Kauf, Ikuma Horishima, Walter Wallberg, Benjamin Cavet or Ludvig Fjallstrom are just some of the big names that stood on the podium in the previous two editions of Idre’s event, so also in 2022 we’re expecting the world’s best moguls athletes to be on hand in Sweden ready to showcase their best skiing.

To make things even more exciting the Swedish Ski Association is also planning to run the live-stream through their Youtube channel so save the date and let’s all get ready for a moguls action-packed month of November.
