Idre Fjäll set to host the FIS Open moguls classic

This weekend, November 16-17, the scenic slopes of Idre Fjäll, Sweden, will come alive as the highly anticipated FIS Open moguls event marks the start of the new season. Bringing together over 100 athletes, this competition promises a dynamic mix of rising stars and seasoned veterans.

The event isn’t just a proving ground for up-and-coming talents eyeing Continental Cup glory. It also boasts a stellar lineup of World Cup athletes. Leading the Swedish contingent are home favorites, including 2022 Olympic champion Walter Wallberg, last season’s Rookie of the Year Filip Gravenfors, and the experienced Rasmus Stegfeld.

Adding to the international flavor, Japan is fielding a full-strength World Cup squad, with Kosuke Sugimoto and emerging talent Takuya Shimakawa headlining the men’s competition. On the women’s side, Rino Yanagimoto returns after a season sidelined by injury, joined by Hinako Tomitaka and Haruka Nakao, ensuring a fiercely competitive field.

The action will unfold on the "Mascots Delight" course, which debuted at last season’s FIS Open. With its challenging 240-meter length and steep 27.8% incline, the course offers a true test of skill and precision.
