The 2024-25 FIS Ski Cross World Cup Tour Stops
The action starts December 10-14 at Val Thorens, France, marking the 13th consecutive year of World Cup races at this iconic venue. Marielle Thompson, the current World Cup leader with eight podiums in Val Thorens, is eager to return:
Following Val Thorens, the tour heads to Arosa, Switzerland, on December 16-17 for its famous night race, where competitors will tackle a new course with only one major turn, ramping up the excitement. Soon after, they’ll race on the high-speed track at Innichen, Italy, from December 19-21—a fan-favorite location that combines technical turns and holiday festivity.
After the holiday break, racers resume competition in January at Reiteralm, Austria, a venue known for tight turns and fast action, and then continue to Veysonnaz, Switzerland, for high-altitude racing that challenges athletes’ endurance and precision. By early February, Val di Fassa, Italy, debuts on the circuit. Race Director Klaus Waldner shares his excitement:
The season’s crown jewel takes place in St. Moritz in March, where the FIS Freestyle World Championships will stretch over two weeks of thrilling competition. This prestigious event will feature disciplines from slopestyle to ski cross, spread across Corvatsch, Silvaplana, and Corviglia. In St. Moritz, the ski cross course will run along the Salastrains chairlift, providing spectators with prime viewing. Accessible by foot or gondola, fans will find themselves immersed in the action on Corviglia, which also hosts moguls, snowboard alpine, and aerial events. The legendary Big Air event will pay homage to history on the former site of St. Moritz's Olympic ski jump, while slopestyle and halfpipe will be held in Silvaplana on Corvatsch mountain.
March 22 will see the new Ski Cross World Champions crowned, followed by the mixed team medal event the next day. Will the local hero and current world’s No. 3 skier, Alex Fiva add another Goldmedal to his collection?
For those unable to make it to St. Moritz, the action isn’t over yet. The tour jets across the Atlantic to Craigleith, Canada, where the iconic finish area with its breathtaking lake views adds to the drama. Finally, the season wraps up with a grand finale at Idre Fjäll, Sweden, where the tour’s biggest track will set the stage for deciding champions in a suspense-filled showdown. With every podium result counting toward the globe, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
