Eva Pinkelnig was unbeatable in the second competition of the Silvester-Tournament.  The Austrian wins in Villach ahead of Katharina Althaus and Nika Kriznar.

With two times 94.5 meters and 260.2 points Eva Pinkelnig dominated Thursday’s competition in Villach. Second place went to Katharina Althaus, who had previously won the qualification for the second knockout competition. German came up with 92 and 92.5 meters and 254.6 points.  She was 3.5 points ahead of Nika Kriznar (93 and 91m; 251.1 pts) from Slovenia, who was third again.

After yesterday's second place, Anna Odine Stroem was again the best Norwegian and finished sixth. Kriznar's teammate Ema Klinec visibly coped with yesterday's crash and finished seventh ahead of Chiara Kreuzer, who achieved her best result of the season. Sara Marita Kramer jumped in ninth place thanks to the day's best jump of 96.5 meters and shared it with Canadian Alexandria Loutitt. The loser of the second round was Nika Prevc, who once again couldn't confirm her first good jump and fell back from seventh to twelfth place.

Lara Malsiner from Italy came in 13th better than ever this season, and Luisa Görlich also showed an appealing performance in 18th. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger came in 27th at her 100th World Cup start. There was also reason to be happy for the Swiss Sina Arnet: She not only won her knockout duel, but also achieved her best career result with 21st place.

Agnes Reisch, who would actually have been the opponent of Jenny Rautionaho from Finland in the knockout duel, did not start due to knee problems. Canadian Nicole Maurer was disqualified for wearing a suit that did not comply with the rules, so only 48 jumpers were classified. Among them was Silje Opseth, who lost her duel with Ursa Bogataj and also missed the lucky loser stands.

In the overall ranking of the New Year's Tour, Eva Pinkelnig now leads with 518.1 points ahead of Nika Kriznar, who is 23.5 points behind. Anna Odine Stroem is third with 493.9 points, just 0.2 points ahead of Katharina Althaus.
