Home victory for Silje Opseth in Lillehammer

Silje Opseth wins competition on the big hill in Lillehammer. Together with Anna Odine Stroem she ensures a Norwegian double victory, while Eva Pinkelnig continues her series of podiums and finish on the 3rd place.

On Sunday evening in Lillehammer, Silje Opseth celebrated her second win of the season and her third World Cup victory with 137.5 and 133 meters and 259.6 points. Anna Odine Stroem takes the second place with 140 and 129 meters and 252.1 points and the Norwegian team celebrates a double victory.

"It feels really good. Standing on the podium with Anna is a great experience and that too at home. My strengths are definitely in flight and I was able to play to them here today,” Opseth summed up her day.

Third place went to Eva Pinkelnig with 135.5 and 130.5 meters and 250.9 points. "I really like Lillehammer, this place is always perfect prepared and I love to jump here. Also jumping in yellow bib gives me a lot of energy and power.,” she smiled after the competition, in which she mastered some wind turbulence and landed with nerves of steel in the second round.

On the day after her ninth World Cup victory, Katharina Althaus again showed a strong performance and finished fourth in front of the two Slovenians Ema Klinec and Nika Kriznar. Sara Marita Kramer ended up behind as the second best Austrian in position ahead of Julia Clair from France, who achieved her first top ten result of the current season

In the high-class and exciting competition, Selina Freitag was able to gain two positions in the final round and came eleventh. Anna Rupprecht also showed a good competition and was 17th thanks to a new personal best of 125 meters.

The two Americans Annika Belshaw and Paige Jones, who scored World Cup points for the first time in 20th and 29th, were also able to land highlights, as was the Norwegian Nora Midtsundstad.

14-year-old Ingvild Synnoeve Midtskogen from Norway, who qualified for the event as she did on the normal hill, was also disqualified after ignoring the red light at the end of the course.

In the overall World Cup, Eva Pinkelnig was able to defend her lead again and is now at the top with 300 points. Silje Opseth is now second again with 247 points, ahead of Katharina Althaus, who has 240 points.
