Zurich Meetings wrap-up
Aug 31, 2018·Snowboard AlpineThe FIS Autumn meetings in Zurich saw a very productive meeting of the Alpine Snowboard Sub Committee.
The attendees discussed not only on how to highlight the season’s World Cup finals and a tour within the tour but also possible ways to increase the awareness of the sport. That said, several ideas on how to create more stars were in the focus.
Besides adapting several things such as graphics and clips for a more creative TV product, a better long term planning of the calendar was recognised as key aspect.
While things are on a good way with already a fruitful application base secured, the upcoming season features an extensive calendar with Lackenhof in Austria being a late entry hosting a double World Cup event on January 5 and 6, 2018.
In addition, an interesting three-day racing action with back-to-back-to-back events in Carezza and Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy) will kick off the 2018 Olympic winter for the raceboarders.
Last but not least, the new season will also be the first one ever to feature three team events and therefore the first time ever to provide a World Cup trophy for the best mixed.
