After last season's scheduled slate of events was cancelled due to the emerging Covid-19 pandemic, Austria's Lachtal resort is finally set to make its return as a top-flight alpine snowboarding venue this weekend when the 2020/21 Junior World Championships take to the resort's slopes from the 19th-21st of December.

The last time we saw major international snowboard racing in Lachtal was nearly six years ago when the resort played host to parallel competition as part of the Kreischberg 2015 FIS Snowboard and Freestyle Ski World Championships. Already a proven venue for showcasing the world's best carvers, this season we'll get to see the next generation of alpine snowboarding's best put the Lachtal piste through its paces.

After a big day of training sessions on Friday it will be right into JWC competition on Saturday, with the preliminary heats of parallel slalom competition getting underway at 9:00 CET, followed by finals at 12:30. Sunday will then follow the same schedule for parallel giant slalom competition, before three days of racing action is closed out by the parallel mixed team event on Monday, beginning at 9:30.
