Looking ahead to 2021/22 snowboard alpine season

There is still a couple of weeks left before the world’s best alpine snowboarders will officially kick off the World Cup campaign in Bannoye (RUS) on December 11-12, but before we get there let’s take a quick look at what’s to come in a highly anticipated 2021/22 season.

With back-to-back competitions in Bannoye, the tour will then travel to Italy for the classic Dolomites races in Carezza and Cortina d’Ampezzo (ITA). After holidays the season will head into the final phase before the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. Scuol (SUI) will host the first competition in 2022 on January 8, with one of the highlights of the season coming next in Bad Gastein. The World Cup tour will remain in Austria, with a pair of competitions wrapping up January at the brand new venue in Simonhoehe.

February will see the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing with the freestyle and snowboard events taking place at Secret Garden. The snowboard alpine racers will start trainings on February 4, while PGS qualifications and finals are set for February 8.

Following a little break after the pinnacle event of the season in China, the World Cup tour will then travel to Moscow for the city PSL event under the lights on February 26.

Entering the final stretch of the 2021/22 World Cup season, March will see three locations with races in Rogla (SLO), Piancavallo (ITA) and the World Cup finals once again visiting Berchtesgaden (GER).

Furthermore the snowboard alpine season will see plenty of action at the European and Nor-Am Cups, with plenty of FIS level events also scheduled along the season.

Last but no least, the FIS Junior World Championships will take place in Chiesa in Valmalenco (ITA) from March 31 until April 3.
