This season, the National Team sets sights on the FIS World Cup events with a particular focus on the Shred The North World Cups on home soil as well as other Elite level events such as the X Games and Dew Tour.

The NextGen teams will focus on gaining international event exposure by attending multiple World Cups for the first time this upcoming season.

Season Highlights

- Slopestyle -
The eclectic and energizing group of individuals that make up the Slopestyle Team for this year will remain mostly unchanged. Making waves this year was Emeruade Maheuex, with her notable trick progression and flawless execution. She was a standout at the Swatch Nines Slopestyle contest and took home the top spot amongst many talented riders. McMorris and Blouin will continue leading the path in their charge to keep up with the fast moving progression in the sport. Blouin joined the triple club ranks by being one of few female riders in the world to land a cab triple cork 1260. Baird (gold medallist) and Laframboise (bronze medallist), two Canadian medallists at the Style Experience Big Air in Edmonton will defend their podium result at next year’s event. Fearless leader, Sharpe, will look to defend his gold at the 2023 Snow Rodeo Slopestyle World Cup in Calgary. Brearley and Spalding are both rising through the ranks with Spalding earning his first ever World Cup medal with a bronze at this year’s Snow Rodeo, and Brearley adding to a silver in Silvaplana, Switzerland in slopestyle as a three-time World Cup Medallist. Pelchat is on the rise with her personal best of 6th at the Snow Rodeo World Cup. Smith is constantly evolving his trick arsenal and raising the vibes where the team goes while Jobin is arguably the most talented technically on the rail front.

- Halfpipe -
Hosking is coming off an incredible season with 3 World Cup medals this season including a silver at the World Championships in Georgia this year. She will be joined by Brooke D’hondt, who recently won the World Quarter Pipe Championships in Mammoth Mountain, California. Liam Gill will be leading the charge on the men’s side, placing 13th in halfpipe at the 2023 World Championships and continues to showcase his leadership, winning the 2023 OLY Legacy Award for his ‘Liam & Friends’ event, a program led by Gill to support underprivileged indigenous youth and the introduction to snowboarding.

We welcome new additions to the Halfpipe NextGen Team, Felicity Geremia who most recently grabbed the silver in halfpipe at the USA National Championships. Jenna Walker breaking into the top 10, with an 8th place finish at the Snow Rodeo World Cup in halfpipe this year. Ryan Vo, and Lucas Briggs are both strong Canadian Halfpipe riders who are committed to taking their skills to the next level as they represent Canada at multiple Halfpipe World Cups this upcoming season, most notably the North American Tour involving Mammoth, Copper and Calgary’s own Snow Rodeo.

- Snowboard Cross -
Grondin who is an absolute force on the snowboard cross track and famous for his agility and speed through section starts added to his hardware count with 3 more medals on the World Cup circuit including an impressive victory at the Bataille Royale Snowboard Cross World Cup. Audrey McManiman, continues her prominence on the world circuit with 3 top 10’s. Evan Bichon, celebrated his personal best with a 12th at Bataille Royale World Cup on Canadian soil. O’dine, the Olympic Bronze Medallist (Beijing 2022) return to the World Cup circuit for the 2023/24 season is eagerly anticipated.

Graham and Bell are continuing their development on the NextGen team with the welcome addition of two new names James Savard-Ferguson and Lily Bellaar-Spruyt. Savard-Ferguson rounded the year off with a 4th and Bellaar-Spruyt with a 9th at the Junior World Championships in Italy this past year.

- Alpine -
The Alpine National Team saw multiple World Cup podiums, including Gaudet’s World Championships bronze in parallel slalom & Farrell’s World Cup bronze in Parallel Giant Slalom  in Italy. Heldman had a strong presence on the World Cup circuit and we are looking forward to his return to the Alpine Snow TKO World Cup in Blue Mountain, Ontario next year.

On the NextGen side we are proud to have Nazwaski, Behan, Carpentier, Buck, and Moisan - all who have shown commitment and progression in their own pursuit. Moisan, finished the season on a high with a double podium at the USASA National Championships with a bronze in the parallel slalom and silver in parallel giant slalom.

- Para -
The Para Team will roll strong with Turner, Hamel and Massie for the 2023/24 season. Turner, the Paralympic Gold Medallist (Beijing 2022) defended his Word Championship title this year, and is now the owner of two World Championship titles in the Para Snowboard Cross event. Hamel doubled up on bronze in the double banked slalom event at the 2023 Welcome to Paradise Para World Cup at Big White, BC.
