The Snowboard Alpine European Cup (EC) tour came to a close on March 16th with an exciting set of back-to-back races in Davos, Switzerland. This season’s calendar featured 16 races across 8 stops in 6 countries, offering a dynamic platform for Europe’s most promising young snowboarders. Athletes competed on the slopes of Götschen (Germany), Moninec (Czech Republic), Folgaria (Italy), Bansko (Bulgaria), Simonhöhe (Austria), Ratschings (Italy), Gargellen (Austria) and Davos (Switzerland).

The 2024/25 season was marked by remarkable performances and high participation levels. Despite the absence of World Cup regulars, the strong turnout underscored the depth of emerging talent and a bright outlook for the future of alpine snowboarding.

Many EC athletes are expected to advance to the World Cup circuit in the near future, having gained valuable experience on top-tier courses.

"Thanks to excellent cooperation with local organizers, the course design and preparation were of such high quality that moving up to the World Cup should be a natural next step.”Roland Horn, FIS European Cup Coordinator for Alpine Snowboard

“I’m extremely proud of this season’s tour. Our dedicated hosts showed great enthusiasm and support at all eight venues, giving our young riders the chance to compete at a truly high level. The wide geographical spread also ensured a balanced and inclusive circuit across Europe. A sincere thank-you to everyone involved for their fantastic collaboration this winter,” Horn concluded.

In the women’s overall EC standings, 17-year-old Swiss rider Xenia von Siebenthal - reigning Junior World Champion in Parallel Slalom - claimed the title with 8 podium finishes, including 5 victories. Austria’s Miriam Weis secured second place with 5 podiums and 2 wins, while Italy’s Sofia Valle completed the overall podium with 3 podium finishes and 1 victory this winter.

The men’s overall rankings also showcased international diversity. Italy’s Tommy Rabanser, double silver medalist at the Junior World Championships in Zakopane/Suche, topped the standings with 9 podiums and 5 wins. Germany’s Max Kuehnhauser claimed second place with 2 podiums, while Austria’s Julian Treffler took third in overall standings with 3 podium finishes.

“Congratulations to all the young athletes for their outstanding efforts throughout the season. We look forward to welcoming you back next winter.” added Horn
