The bad luck keeps on sticking to Belle Brockhoff as the Australian racer has once again injured her knee following a training accident in Val Thorens, France a few days ago.

The 24-year-old suffered a bad crash in heavy weather conditions rupturing her ACL again and chipping cartilage in her knee.

The 2014 Sochi Olympian already underwent surgery in Melbourne and is – despite this further set-back – not giving up her PyeongChang dreams.

“I’m not giving up on the dream so easily,” Brockhoff told the Australian Olympic Institute (OWIA).

“I will be giving it my very best to come back since I know I'll regret it if I don't. I feel confident I can come back for the Olympics and perform as best I can.”

Despite the risks involved in attempting to compete in South Korea next February, her medical team has put a plan in place which might give her the chance to race for Gold, Silver and Bronze – with the backing of the entire Australian Olympic Team as 2018 Chef de Mission Ian Chesterman explained:

“We will support her in every way possible to achieve her dream of competing at the Olympic Games next year.”

Brockhoff had just come back from a torn ACL suffered at the 2017 World Championships last March.
