The fancied teams from France and the USA came out successful of the respective women's and men's finals of the junior world championships team snowboard cross event which took place in Klinovec (CZE).

In the women's event, Manon Petit (FRA) repeated her last year's triumph; this time together with Julia Pereira who had earned bronze in the individual competition yesterday.

Since the inaugural team event back in 2014 only French girls have triumphed in this trilling and exciting format.

Like 2016, junior world champion Kristina Paul and Viktoria Bukevich competing as team RUS1 finished in second position.

AUS1 with Emily Boyce and Georgia Baff rounded out the podium as third while GER1 with Jana Fischer and Hanna Ihedioha had to settle for fourth.

Over in the men's race on the 700 metres long track, Senna Leith and Jake Vedder lived up to their reputation after both had unexpectedly missed the podium in the single race.

Leon Beckhaus (GER), who had claimed silver the day before took another vice junior world championships title together with Sebastian Pietrzykowski who had brought home two silvers from the 2015 junior worlds.

Adam Lambert who had team up with Angus Pennigton as AUS1 placed third with Gabriel Zweifel and yesterday's gold medallist Kalle Koblet of Switzerland ranking fourth.

The junior word championships will continue with the parallel giant slalom on Monday.

The first stop of the junior worlds trilogy will wrap up things on Tuesday with the parallel slalom medal decisions.

End of March, Spindleruv Mlyn (CZE) will organise the junior world's big air and slopestyle competition while the halfpipe titles will be given in Silvaplana (SUI) on April 21, 2017.
