Schad back to business
Aug 31, 2018·Snowboard CrossKonstantin Schad has already had quite an injury history, but the last winter was definitely one to remember for the team leader of the German boarder cross team.
Two slipped discs led to an early season end. Signs of paralysis in his legs forced the re-elected snowboard representative in the athletes commission to act quickly.
Now, only three months after successfully undergoing a back surgery and the OK of the medical staff the 29-year-old finally resumes training.
“I had to find out where I am and take it step by step. Besides a cross-fit test and a power test, snowboarding was also on my bucket list to check if the pain comes back or not,“ Schad said after his first day standings sideways again.
But fortunately, everything was OK after seven days of intensive training on the Hintertux glacier.
“And as my neurologist told me that the nerve damage has healed well so far, everything is now on curse for my preparations for the next season.”
The 2017-18 World Cup tour is set to kick off early September already with the first races held in Cerro Catedral, Argentina.
