It has been a little over a month since the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup season came to an end in Switzerland’s Veysonnaz, where Alessandro Haemmerle (AUT) and Eva Samkova (CZE) crowned themselves World Cup winners 2020/21.

Since then, the athletes’ paths have gone in different directions. Let’s take a closer look at some of them:

Alessandro Haemmerle closed his season with another win, as he became champion at the Austrian national championships in Reiteralm. That’s just one additional success to add to an incredible season for the Vice-World Champion and triple SBX crystal globe winner.

World Champion Lucas Eguibar had to fight with some serious back problems by the end of the season and stated that he would focus on rehab, so he would be back stronger next season.

And then there was some serious quarantine game happening for some athletes coming back to their home countries, for instance Australia. Especially SBX team World Champions Belle Brockhoff and Jarryd Hughes kept us well entertained during their seperate 14-day-hotel-quarantine. We are glad they made it out ok and are now ready to rock their freedom.

We also want to wish Belle Brockhoff a good recovery from her hand injury that she suffered from at a crash in Bakuriani, Georgia. But we really enjoyed her quarantine entertainment programme.

Jumping back to Europe, World Champs silver medallist Michela Moioli wrapped her season up by winning the gold medal at the Italian National Championships and is now in full focus on the next season, which will be the Olympic season of Beijing 2022.

World Champion Charlotte Bankes has also checked out for the season and changed into spring mode for biking activities and such to recharge the batteries after a season of big highs and some lows, as she states herself.

And as far as the SBX crystal globe winner, Eva Samkova goes, it seems that she is recharging her batteries with the help of another passion of hers – horses. Human and animal go well hand in hand as she shows on her Instagram profile.

That’s just a few of the athletes’ different activities after the World Cup season wrapped up. Make sure to check out the athlete’s Instagram and social media profiles to find out more about what they are up to and to not miss out on any news.
