Instagram fan polls – best SBX photo finish of the season

This past weekend, SBX fans got to vote on the FIS Snowboard Instagram channel between the tightest photo finish moments of the season among men and women.
The choice indeed was tough! For the women the photo-finish moments to chose from were:
The French battle between Julia Pereira de Sousa Mabileau and teammate Chloe Trespeuch in the quarterfinals of Bakuriani (GEO), which was a test event for the 2023 FIS Freestyle Ski, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships.
The fight between Austria’s Pia Zerkhold, who has also been voted Rookie of the year 2021, and Chloe Trespeuch in the fight for a World Champs medal in the mixed team event in Idre Fjall. Zerkhold was the one who won this exceptionally tight photo finish in the end. 55% of the fans voted to rewatch the heat on social media.
The men did not leave us without any tight photo finish moments either last season. Fans could vote between the following two moments:
A super tight photo finish at the second of back-to-back races in Chiesa in Valmalenco (ITA) between Filippo Ferrari (ITA) taking second place ahead of Loan Bozzolo (FRA) and featuring Liam Moffat in the picture.
Lucas Eguibar’s photo-finish win against Austria’s Alessandro Haemmerle and grabbing gold at the World Champs in Sweden’s Idre Fjall. The battle for the highly anticipated World Championship battle could not have been any more dramatic and that’s why this photo finish won 71% of the votes.
In the end, all there is left to say is that a photo finish…is as tight as it gets in SBX…!
