Monday Mix - May 6, 2019
May 06, 2019·Snowboard Park & PipeWelcome to the first edition of the Monday Mix, a weekly column we'll be running throughout the off-season to collect some of the stories happening in and around the world of snowboarding!
Without further ado, let's get right into it...
Both Snowboarder Magazine's Superpark and Danny Davis' Woodward Peace Park Championships wrapped up this weekend at Crystal Mountain (USA) and Boreal in Tahoe (USA), respectively, with a huge collection of the world's very best taking advantage of fun spring conditions for a few days of filming, competition, and good vibes at both events. Expect full recaps of each later on in the week.
The US Snowboard Team spent some time getting caught up with their very own Toby Miller last week, checking in with the 19-year-old ripper to find out what he's got in store for the off season (hint: more shredding).
The Swiss Snowboard big air championships went down in conjunction with the finale of the 2018/19 Audi Snowboard Series a couple weeks ago in Corvatsch 3033, and judging by the above edit it was a heavy competition indeed.
And, staying with the Swiss team, it was announced last week that David van Wijnkoop will be taking over as the Alpine team coach for next season after Christian Rufer retired as head coach at the end of this past season.
A nice little recap video came out of the Canada Snowboard Team camp a couple weeks with highlights from their national freestyle championships at Winsport Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.
And, finally, falling into the "please don't try this at home" department, we'll finish things off for this week with a dude in Austria riding his buddy as a human snowboard...
See ya next week!
