Motto: It’s better in the mountains

Why do you Telemark? After I stopped racing Alpine I didn't want to stop competing, and with my Alpine and Cross Country background I found the perfect Sport for me, which combines so many other sports: Telemark

Also Telemark skiing is better for my knees, which have had some damages and surgeries, because the whole system (binding, boot, position on skis) is a lot softer.

What is your favorite Telemark discipline? Parallel Sprint, because I love the direct fight with the girls and that you have to react and decide super spontaneously. It's also my most successful discipline.

How often do you train per Week? Whats your favorite Training? 6 days per week, 4 days twice a day.
My favourite Training is for sure cycling. Whether it's road cycling for endurance or MTB/ Enduro for downhill feeling and driving curves. I also love to go hiking in my home mountains in Oberstdorf, and I enjoy gym training because you can see fast results.

What was the best experience of your career so far? World Champion and Winning a medal together with my brother.

Whats your favorite race on the World Cup Calendar? Espot in Spain, I love the slopes and the mountains there, also the atmosphere is great and the people super nice. That’s where I won my first WC race and also (earlier) 3 of 3 possible Junior World Champs Gold Medals. Of course i also really enjoy racing at home, at Oberjoch, Germany, and also in Norway, the mother country of Telemark.

Tell us something  we should know about you...

- Junior World Championship record holder with: 12 gold & 4 silver medals
- Started Telemarking when I was 15 and competed in my first World Cup at the age of 15, now competing in my 9th WC season.
- Two brothers: Sebastian Holzmann, 25 (1993) - Benedikt Holzmann, 27 (1991), Sebi: Alpine World Cup Slalom (top 30 in the World), Bene: Comeback Season and also his last Telemark World Cup Season (several podiums in the books)
- State proofed Ski Instructor in Alpine Skiing (highest Level you can reach)
- On the day of my first WC win I accidently wore my underwear inside out..

Last but not least..what do you wish for the Future? My most important goal is always to stay healthy and injury free for the whole season. To constantly improve from season to season
