The FIS Freestyle Moguls and Dual Moguls competitions, originally set to take place in Alpe d’Huez, France, on 13–14 December 2024, have been cancelled. This decision comes as a result of insufficient snowpack and sustained unusually warm temperatures in the region, which are expected to continue and prevent adequate snowmaking.

This is especially disappointing news for French fans, who were riding a wave of excitement following the triumphant return of Perrine Laffont to competition. Her victory at the World Cup opener in Ruka created significant buzz among fans and media in France, setting the stage for what promised to be an electric atmosphere at Alpe d’Huez.

Alpe d’Huez has become a staple of the December calendar in recent years, known for its vibrant crowds, stunning views from the Signal slope, and top-notch organisation. The sunny weather and perfectly prepared courses have made it a favorite stop for athletes and spectators alike, delivering memorable competitions year after year.

The FIS is actively exploring options to either reschedule the competitions or move them to an alternate venue. Updates on these efforts will be shared in the coming days as plans develop.
