The last competition day of the women’s FIS Continental Cup in Schonach, Germany, featured an Individual Gundersen. Adverse wind conditions on the Langenwaldschanze HS100 prevented a Ski Jumping competition in the morning, so the results of Saturday’s Provisional Competition Round (PCR) determined the starting positions for the 4 km cross-country race.

In the PCR, Germany’s Nathalie Armbruster claimed first place with a jump of 85.5 meters, closely followed by her compatriot Anne Haeckel, who recorded the longest jump at 88 meters. However, neither of the German athletes competed in Sunday’s race, leaving Ukraine’s Karina Kozlova, who jumped 83.5 meters, to lead the field. Poland’s Joanna Kil started just behind Kozlova, also with a jump of 83.5 meters.

Joanna Kil delivered a dominant performance in the cross-country segment, leaving her competitors far behind. The Polish athlete, who won the Overall Continental Cup last season, showcased her prowess on the track, crossing the finish line first and securing her second COC victory.

Italy’s Daniela Dejori demonstrated strong form, claiming second place, 23.4 seconds behind Kil. Her teammate Veronica Gianmoena followed in third, finishing 30.2 seconds behind the winner.

Germany’s Sophia Maurus finished in fourth place, a result that allowed her to retain her lead in the Overall Continental Cup standings as the series heads into its next competition.

All results can be found here.

I did a really good competition. Showing a really good jump in the PCR and feeling strong in the cross-country race. Perfect weather, perfect conditions, so it’s really nice to be here. The LOC did great work, both on the cross-country course and the hill. I really like this place!Joanna Kil (POL), Winner
