Arosa (SUI) - A boon of snow and heavy weather across the Alps over the past several days has been a thorn in the side of the winter sports schedule across the region, and the 2017 Audi FIS Ski Cross Alps tour has been no exception.

After cancelling the second of two weekend competitions scheduled for Val Thorens (FRA) on Saturday, organizers and officials were again forced to make some schedule changes on Monday at the second stop of the Tour, cancelling training and qualifications scheduled Monday in Arosa (SUI) due to strong winds.

However, with calmer conditions expected for Tuesday at the Swiss resort, a revamped program that will feature training, qualifications, and finals all happening in one day. As Arosa is a nighttime sprint event the new schedule does not affect the start time of finals, and the workload for the athletes should not be exceptionally heavier due to the Arosa tracks ~35 second runtime.

As long as we’re not subjected to any heavy precipitation or a changing of the winds, things look promising in regards to getting off a successful competition at the second leg of the Audi FIS Ski Cross Alps Tour in Arosa on Tuesday evening.
