Austrians won premiere Super-Team competition in Zao
Jan 14, 2023·Ski JumpingChiara Kreuzer and Eva Pinkelnig dominated from the beginning on Saturday Super-Team competition in Zao and won with 624.6 points. After six jumps, they were 35.3 points ahead of the Norway team (Thea Minyan Bjoerseth and Anna Odine Stroem), who took second place with 589.3. Katharina Althaus and Selina Freitag took third place for the DSV with 581.8 points.
"Our jumps were all on a good level and I hope that we'll get a few more of these jumps," Kreuzer summarized the day. Asked about the fog that lay over the hills, Pinkelnig only smiled: "We've seen enough. For us, it's always a straight line and the track is always the same.” Due to the short breaks between the rounds - only eleven and fourteen minutes, we were always in a hurry to get up on the hill again”.
Canadian Team was also a big candidate for podium today. After the 4th round Loutitt and Strait finished 4th. Slovenia (Ema Klinec and Nika Kriznar) were 5th, local Japanese team finished 6th in front of France (7th) and Italy (8th).
There was no third round for the teams from Finland (Julia Kykkänen and Jenny Rautionaho), China (Xueyao Li and Qi Liu), Romania (Andreea Diana Trambitas and Daniela Haralambie) and the USA (Paige Jones and Annika Belshaw). At least for the Romanians, the eleventh place ahead of the Americans was a success, since with Trambitas they were the only jumper in the whole field who never scored World Cup points. The teams receive 40, 30, 20 and ten points for the national ranking for their placement.
